once upon a time, d&m were rockin out on 'come together' right by a little river, high in the san juan mountains of colorado. we looked across the way and saw a black shape bumbling along and then it just sort of stopped and looked at us. we said 'is that a bear?' (and it most probably said 'is that the beatles?'-- thanks brent) and then we carried on singing our hearts out and it carried on doing what black bears do in the san juan mountains. this is a song about our modern gyspy bear.
lyrics
MGB by d&m
Had a friend, a modern gypsy friend
And we sat together by the river
Til our days would end
Crossed the land, the taller mountain land
And we sat together by the river
Til our days would end
You old black bear,
Up on your side of everywhere
You old black bear
Watching us sing from there
Melt the cold, the morning hanging gold
And we sat together by the river
Til our days were old
Come on, black bear,
Up on your side of everywhere
Come on, black bear
Watching us sing from there
Do do do do do do
And we sat together by the river
Til our days were old
